RAF ALUMINIUM LANCASTER
Beautiful and stylish sculpture of the famous WW2 aircraft Avro Lancaster.
Entering in to service with Bomber command in 1942 and remained in production until 1946. Powered by 4 Rolls Royce Merlin engines, it was the RAF’s main aircraft for long-range heavy bombing campaigns, most often at night, of which 156,000 sorties were completed. The long, unobstructed bomb bay offered great versatility – accommodating the largest bombs including ‘Tall Boy’ and Gram Slam ‘Earthquake’ bombs and Barnes Wallis famous bouncing bomb which cemented the Lancaster’s place in history.
This crafted and hand finished sculpture is modelled from solid aluminium and comes with stand.
Polished to a high sheen helping display its full curves and angles in the light.
